Sports and leisures
on the Alabaster Coast
The Côte d’Albâtre and its hinterland around Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer are full of a multitude of sports and relaxation activities for those who love to move. Near our vacation home, the sea and its beaches offer all kinds of beach and water activities (swimming, surfing, kite-surfing, paddle-boarding, longe-cote, fishing, sand yachting, sailing, etc.). The Dieppe region is labeled “France Station Nautique,” a guarantee of multidisciplinarity and an accessible offer for all. The richness and diversity of the landscapes invite you to take beautiful invigorating walks on the beaches between the valleuses at low tide and to hike along the cliffs, on the GR 21 and in the rural hinterland.
As you can see, there is something for everyone!
Surf, paddle, kayak
In the heart of a charming small seaside resort, the SURF’IN club in Pourville offers you the opportunity to try surfing, paddle-boarding, or sea kayaking along the cliffs of the Côte d’Albâtre. The beach of Pourville is a renowned spot for surfers, the closest to Paris. The surf school offers many courses. Not far away, in Saint Aubin sur Mer, you will find another beach very popular with kite-surfers and windsurfers.
Longe-côte
Longe-cote (or aquatic hiking) consists of walking in the water with the help of a paddle most of the time. It is a sport with multiple health benefits. At Nautisub in Dieppe, you can try crawl, paddle, or palm longe-cote. You can also discover this activity in Pourville or Saint Aubin-sur-Mer.
Sand yachting and catamaran sailing
Experience new gliding sensations with sand yachting! Accompanied by a state-certified instructor, you will evolve for 2 hours on the beach of Saint Aubin-sur-Mer, the largest beach in Seine Maritime with its immense expanse of sand at low tide. The activity is available year-round, depending on the tides.

When the tide goes out and reveals a large expanse of sand, dotted with rocks, on or under which you can find your catch.
Shore fishing

It allows hikers to discover the charms of the Normandy coast, from Dieppe to Le Havre via Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer. The main circuits are marked from three points of interest: the church of Varengeville-sur-Mer, the lighthouse of Ailly, and a nature circuit. We will provide you with hiking guides that include the different trails of the region.
Beaches
The beach of Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer is typical of the region with its pebble beach and large stretches of sand uncovered at low tide. Swimmers are not left out thanks to lifeguard supervision throughout the summer. Children will find a playground, a pétanque court, and families picnic tables. After swimming, showers are available for everyone to rinse off the salt.
Golf
The golf course of Dieppe is the oldest in Normandy. It is located 10 kilometers from L’Orée du Phare, on the cliffs of Dieppe. It offers superb views of the sea and the cliffs of the Côte d’Albâtre. Its 18-hole course, varied and wooded, remarkably maintained, makes it a golfing reference. You can also try the golf course of Saint Riquier, located on the plateau of Pays de Caux, 30 minutes from the house. For golf enthusiasts, head towards the exceptional site of the Étretat golf course.
